Live music, street food, BMX stunts, family activities and a headline evening performance, Picnic in the Park is set to bring a full day of summer fun to Amersham on 20 June.

If your ideal summer day involves live music, good food, friends, family and a picnic blanket in the sunshine, you might want to keep 20 June free.

Picnic in the Park is returning to King George V Playing Field, bringing a packed programme of live entertainment, local food, family activities and community spirit to the heart of Amersham.

Music starts from 12.30 pm and continues throughout the day, with a fantastic line-up of local performers and bands, building towards an evening headline performance from !daft!.

The programme includes:

1.00 pm – Amersham Rock Choir
2.00 pm – Tinlin
3.00 pm – Lucy Clarke
4.00 pm – The Junkyard Dogs
5.30 pm – Abba Girls
7.00 pm – !daft!

Alongside the music, there will be plenty to keep visitors fed and refreshed, from barbecue favourites and southern fried chicken to fish and chips, cakes, pretzels, chocolate-covered strawberries and more. For the grown-ups, Mad Squirrel and a cocktail bar will be serving drinks throughout the day.

Families will find plenty to enjoy too, including a toddler funfair, a free climbing wall and exciting BMX stunt displays from RPM Displays taking place throughout the afternoon.

And while the atmosphere is all about enjoying a great day out, the event also celebrates the people and organisations that make Amersham such a special place. Amersham Museum will be there, alongside local makers and community groups selling everything from Amersham-inspired artwork and plants to handcrafted gifts and Bloom-themed creations. Several stalls will also be raising funds for Amersham in Bloom.

Bring a picnic blanket, gather some friends, and settle in for a day of music, food and summer atmosphere. Whether you stay for an hour or all day, Picnic in the Park is one of those events that reminds you exactly why summer in Amersham is so enjoyable.
