There’s something about a beautiful landscape painting that makes you want to stop for a moment, look a little closer and imagine yourself somewhere else.
This autumn, local artist Susan Gray is bringing her love of the sea and landscape to the heart of Old Amersham with a new exhibition at The Folde, running from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 22 November.
Known for her sea and landscape art, Susan draws inspiration from the natural world, capturing the beauty of open spaces, changing scenery and the atmosphere of places that stay with us long after we’ve left them.
Her exhibition offers a lovely opportunity to step away from the everyday for a little while and enjoy the world through an artist’s eyes. Whether you’re drawn to the sea, have a particular love of landscapes or simply enjoy discovering original art, there’s something rather special about seeing paintings in person, where you can appreciate their colours, textures and details up close.
And the setting couldn’t be more fitting.
The exhibition takes place in the Upstairs Gallery at The Folde, a beautiful creative space, gallery and lifestyle shop at 20 High Street, directly opposite the Market Square in Old Amersham.
Already a lovely destination for anyone interested in art, design and independent creativity, The Forde provides an intimate setting to discover Susan’s work and perhaps find a new favourite piece.
Meet the artist at the private view
The exhibition opens on Thursday 29 October, with a special private view from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, when Susan will be there to welcome visitors.
Everyone is invited, making it a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist, hear a little about her work and enjoy the exhibition in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
And if you can’t make the opening evening, there’s plenty of time to visit over the following weeks.
