Discover Amersham's independent businesses this November and be in with a chance of winning fantastic local prizes as The Bucks Guide's Support Local Month comes to town.

There’s always a good reason to support our local independent businesses, but this November, there’s a little extra incentive.

Support Local Month, organised by The Bucks Guide and supported by Buckinghamshire Council, is bringing together 127 businesses across Buckinghamshire, including 11 here in Amersham, for a month-long celebration of local shopping, hospitality and the people who make our high streets special.

And there’s a lovely bonus for customers too — the chance to win some fantastic Buckinghamshire prizes simply by visiting participating businesses.

The idea couldn’t be easier. Look out for the Support Local Month poster displayed in shop windows, scan the QR code and enter the prize draw. Each time you visit another participating business and scan its code, you’ll have another opportunity to win.

There are more than 55 prizes up for grabs, including family tickets to the Roald Dahl Museum and a dinner-for-two voucher at The King’s Head in Little Marlow, alongside plenty of other treats and experiences from across the county.

But beyond the prizes, there’s a much bigger idea behind the campaign.

Our local shops, cafés, restaurants and independent businesses are such an important part of what makes Amersham a wonderful place to live and visit. They’re the familiar faces behind the counter, the places we recommend to friends and the businesses that give our town its character.

So whether you’re popping out for your morning coffee, browsing for something special, treating yourself to lunch or getting a head start on Christmas shopping, November is a great opportunity to explore somewhere new while supporting the businesses on our doorstep.

The Bucks Guide website also confirms some particularly lovely prizes donated by Amersham businesses, including a blind wine tasting at The Wine Place, family entry to Amersham Museum and a Piggy Pet & Play experience at Kew Little Pigs.
