A cosy and gently inspiring winter evening exploring the forgotten history of Valentine’s Day, heart-supporting herbs, and simple herbal ideas to enjoy at home.

Step away from pink cards and supermarket roses and discover a softer, older side of Valentine’s Day.
On Tuesday 11 February, 7:00–8:30 pm, local medical herbalist Kristine De Block invites you to a relaxed and welcoming evening of storytelling, tasting and herbal wisdom.

Together, you’ll wander back through history and folklore — from saints and secret notes to mid-winter traditions centred on health, luck and getting through the darkest part of the year. From there, the focus turns to plants and the heart: herbs people have long turned to when the heart feels anxious, heavy, tired or tangled up in love.

You’ll be introduced to a few classic “heart herbs”, hear the stories behind them, and learn about simple preparations you can try at home — all explained in an easy, down-to-earth way.

You’ll leave with a fresh perspective on Valentine’s Day, a handful of herbal ideas, and hopefully a warm, uplifted feeling.

No experience needed — just curiosity and a love of natural things.

Price: £13 (includes a glass of wine or a soft drink)
