Explore the Wild Side of Old Amersham with Botanist Karen van Oostrum

In collaboration with Wild Amersham, join local botanist Karen van Oostrum for a relaxed and informative walk through the lanes and fields of Old Amersham on October 11th, between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm

During the walk, you will:

  • Discover the rich variety of plants growing right on your doorstep

  • Learn about the local landscape’s geography and fascinating history

  • Understand how land use in Amersham has evolved over time

  • Enjoy beautiful views across the Old Town

This is the third walk in a three-part seasonal series, with events in spring, summer, and autumn. Each walk follows the same route, offering a unique opportunity to observe and reflect on seasonal changes throughout the year. While not specifically designed for families, children with an interest in wildlife and local history are very welcome to join.

An Oxford University Biology graduate with a Ph.D. in wheat genetics, Karen previously served as Head of Education at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
