Heritage Day is back! On Sunday, 7 September, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm Old Amersham becomes a living time-capsule: classic cars & traction engines, medieval knights, live music, heritage bus journeys, markets, museum moments and more. Bring everyone — it’s the perfect day out!

Mark your calendars! Old Amersham turns into one big, joyful time‑capsule on Sunday 7 September. From vintage motors to medieval knights, heritage buses to birds of prey, it’s the best kind of throwback; lively, hands‑on, and perfect for families, friends, curious teens, grandparents, and everyone in between.

What to expect:

  • Show‑stopping classics: gleaming classic cars & traction engines lining the High Street.
  • Family fun: children’s funfair rides, pop‑up games and hands‑on activities all afternoon.
  • History that moves: heritage bus journeys shuttling between Amersham‑on‑the‑Hill and the Old Town.
  • Live entertainment: bands, dancers and street performers bringing the High Street to life.
  • Meet the past: medieval re‑enactments and knightly demos — think armour, pageantry and photo‑ops.
  • Wild encounters: birds of prey displays (always a crowd favourite!).
  • Markets & makers: a vintage & local market with treats, crafts and delicious bites.
  • Pop into Amersham Museum: special heritage‑day programming and family‑friendly exhibits.                 You can book your tickets for a town walk here

Final running order will be posted closer to the day, but expect a full afternoon of activity across the High Street, Market Square and Church Mead.
