On Sunday, September 8th, 2024, Amersham’s beloved Heritage Day returned with a full slate of exciting activities, offering something for every age group. The streets of Old Amersham were bustling with visitors eager to explore the rich history of this charming town while enjoying a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

The day kicked off with a classic car and traction engine display, attracting car enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike. The display lined the High Street with vintage models, offering a snapshot of automotive history.

For families, there was no shortage of entertainment. Children’s funfair rides and an exciting axe throwing provided hours of fun for the families. The birds of prey display was a particular highlight, allowing children and adults to get up close with these majestic creatures. The medieval re-enactments brought a touch of historical drama to the day, with actors in full costume performing battles, demonstrating old-world skills, and recreating scenes from centuries past.

At the street market, local artisans and vendors sold a wide range of goods, from handmade crafts to delicious local produce. Visitors could wander through the stalls, sampling food, picking up unique treasures, and enjoying the community spirit.
