Walking in the Air: The Snowman Comes to Life with Amersham Band This Christmas

There are certain Christmas traditions that never lose their magic. And for many of us, watching The Snowman is right at the top of the list.

This December, Amersham Band is bringing Raymond Briggs’ much-loved Christmas classic to life with a special screening of The Snowman, accompanied by the beautiful sound of a live brass band.

Imagine settling into your seat as the familiar story unfolds on screen, with the music performed live by talented musicians. From the excitement of a snowman coming to life to that unforgettable journey through the winter sky, it’s a chance to experience a childhood favourite in a completely different way.

And, of course, there’s Walking in the Air — one of those pieces of music that instantly brings back the wonder of Christmas, whether you’re hearing it for the first time or the fiftieth.

But the festive fun doesn’t end when the film finishes.

Alongside the screening, Amersham Band will perform a selection of much-loved Christmas favourites, bringing together familiar melodies, festive cheer and the wonderfully rich sound of brass instruments.

It’s the kind of concert that appeals to all generations. For little ones, there’s the excitement of discovering the magical world of The Snowman. For parents and grandparents, perhaps a little nostalgia. And for everyone, the pleasure of sharing live music together at this special time of year.

With two performances on each date, there’s plenty of opportunity to make it part of your Christmas celebrations — whether you’re planning a festive family outing, introducing children to live music or simply looking for something a little different to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas.
