Swap spooky season for something a little more snuffly this October half term, with miniature pigs, pumpkin picking, a Halloween trail and plenty of family fun on the farm.

If your idea of Halloween fun involves more pumpkins and miniature pigs than ghosts and ghouls, this might be just the half-term adventure.

From Saturday 24 to Friday 30 October, the farm is getting a Halloween makeover for a special two-hour Piggy Pet & Play experience, combining plenty of time with its miniature residents with some seasonal fun.

The visit begins with an introduction and tour before heading into the petting pens, where children and grown-ups can get up close to the pigs, spend time brushing and grooming them and, naturally, take plenty of pictures along the way.

Then it’s time to add a little Halloween mischief. Follow the Halloween-themed trail through the farm, with goodies waiting at the end, before choosing your own pumpkin to decorate. There will even be opportunities to win a pig adoption through both the trail and pumpkin-decorating activities.

Fancy dress is very much encouraged, so witches, vampires, tiny pumpkins and the occasional superhero are all welcome. Food and drinks will also be available to buy during your visit.

It sounds like a lovely alternative to the usual Halloween activities — outdoors, hands-on and with considerably more snuffling.
