After the first wedding, Hugh Grant’s character Charlie leaves his friends to go to the hotel (called The Boatman in the film) to try and meet Carrie, played by Andie MacDowell.

The exterior shot of the hotel is The Kings Arms Hotel in Old Amersham, and for the interior scenes, the production used the Crown Inn, and their website proudly boasts that Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell spent the night in one of their Courtyard Suites.
