Plant folklore expert Roy Vickery will share the folk stories of plants in Old Amersham and Chesham Bois, on Sunday, June the 29th

Join renowned plant folklore expert Roy Vickery for a fascinating guided walk through St Mary’s Churchyard and the Amersham Band site in Old Amersham, followed by the second walk  around Chesham Bois Common, the nearby woodland, and Chesham Bois burial ground..

Roy will share captivating folk stories and traditions tied to local plants, offering a unique lens on nature and history.

The Old Amersham walk will start in St Mary’s Churchyard in Old Amersham and finish at the Amersham Band site on Rectory Meadow. It’s a short walk on even ground. Comfortable footwear is recommended.

The Chesham Bois walk will start at Bricky Pond on North Road, Chesham Bois Common and finish at the Chesham Bois Burial Ground on Bois Moor Road. It’s a short walk (about 20 minutes), but sometimes on uneven ground through the woodland. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
